J Watson, 15th October 2023 - Verified BidderRated 5 stars out of 5Bucket list status! We did not want to leave! We love the Flinders, but this is next step amazing. Rooms are recently refurbished and very comfortable. Continental breakfast was included every morning, and there was even gluten free options. Staff cannot help enough with any query you may have. The rock wallabies come in for dinner and a photo shoot every night, they’re so cute. We booked a flight, which was wonderful, the pilot was so knowledgeable about the local area. We also did an observatory tour, if you’re into the stars, this is also a must do. The 4wd tracks are good fun, there are plenty for beginners, as well as a few for the adventurous. Highly recommend this place, the minute we got home, I bid on another auction for a second visit. Can’t recommend enough.
D Dyson, 30th September 2023 - Verified BidderRated 5 stars out of 5We have stayed there 3 times and go back again next year. Whilst many take 4wds, most of the time Arkaroola has about 100 kms of roads that can be safely negotiated with care using a 2wd vehicle. We have been there in a Ford Falcon wagon, just leaving our caravan at Leigh Creek. Loved the Ridge Top Tour and the Flight with Doug Sprigg over the ranges. Their fuel prices were better than Leigh Creek. Nice to stop off at Igawarta near Nepubunna for a meal or a drink too.
C Kwaterski, 22nd July 2023 - Verified BidderRated 5 stars out of 5Great stay out in the wilderness. The setting is beautiful. Units are all clean and comfortable. The restaurant served lovely meals. Lots of walking trails with great views. Definitely recommend, best if you have a 4 wheel drive getting there, dirt roads. We ended up getting 2 punctures.
J Barker, 28th June 2022 - Verified BidderRated 5 stars out of 5Great place to stay. Friendly staff. Great 4 wheel drive escape.
W Healey, 20th August 2021 - Verified BidderRated 4 stars out of 5Well worth the effort to travel on the dirt roads to get there and you do not need a 4WD. The rooms were very spacious, very clean with good air conditioning. The facilities are okay but the shop does not have a lot of supplies. The meals in the restaurant are pretty good value for money with very obliging staff. The Ridge Top tour is fabulous and if you have to spend your last $10 to do it then it is well worth it. This package is definitely worth bidding on.
T Walker, 5th August 2021 - Verified BidderRated 5 stars out of 5Almost "Bucket List" status! A must-do for any enthusiast of the outback, especially the world-renown "Ridge Top Tour". Just go and enjoy!
J Valenti, 14th May 2021 - Verified BidderRated 5 stars out of 5Loved Arkaroola, lots to see and do. Great photography opportunities with friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend Arkaroola to everyone!
A Mason, 28th February 2021 - Verified BidderRated 4 stars out of 5We travelled in February which is off season so not all staff were back on deck. However, despite being quiet, there was live music at dinner time which was great. A lot of the Mawson motel units are being refurbished. Ours had a relatively new bathroom, the bed was comfortable and the unit spacious. We went on the Ridgetop Tour which we highly recommend. The scenery was fantastic and the 4W driving amazing. Our guide was informative and a truly competent driver. We walked in the mornings and evenings and even saw numerous Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies and Euros. This is a rustic holiday and very unique. Would recommend!
