I think we can all agree that 2020 was a year like none we’d experienced before… in fact, let’s not sugar coat it – it was absolutely bloody nuts! Although we were all affected in one way or another, our hearts were with those in Victoria who experienced a lockdown which lasted over 3 months! Known amongst many as the capital for coffee, cyclists and hipsters – we know Victoria has much more to offer than the bearded baristas that we’ve grown so accustomed to.

So, we’ve put together a list of some of our favourite Victorian regions and we don’t mean to toot our own horn, but it’s pretty good! So have a read and start planning because it’s time to put VIC back on the map and they’re ready to welcome us with open arms!

GREAT OCEAN ROAD

Famous for scenic coastal drives, natural attractions and world famous surf beaches, The Great Ocean Road is one of Australia’s most driven stretches. If you are planning your next adventure along the GOR, we recommend checking out:

  • The 12 Apostles, near Port Campbell

  • Teddy’s Lookout in Lorne

  • Torquay – an adorable seaside town, it’s known as ‘The Gateway to the Great Ocean Road’ and world famous surfing ‘Bells Beach’.

  • Split Point Lighthouse in Aireys Inlet

HIGH COUNTRY

Full of national parks, mountains, lakes, vineyards and snow resorts, High Country in the north-east

of Victoria is a different kettle of fish in comparison to the GOR. Enjoy fresh air and hiking while you explore some of this region’s most noteworthy attractions:

  • Alpine National Park – some of High Country’s most spectacular scenery can be found here

  • Nagambie wine region – best to bring a designated driver with you for this part!

  • Bright – the perfect base for exploring neighbouring mountains and ski resorts

THE MURRAY

Creating the boarder between Victoria and New South Wales, the Murray River is home to sunshine, memorable camping trips, paddle steamers and stunning views! If you haven’t holidayed along the Murray River, now is the time!

  • Echuca and the Murray River paddle steamers

  • Day trip from Mildura to the Pink Lakes

  • Pioneer Settlement in Swan Hill

  • Visit Lake Mulwala on the end of the main street in Yarrawonga
