We Got a Sneak Peek at the New Nightcap at Esplanade Hotel, Brighton Beach
We’ve seen a lot of accommodation over our 34 years in business, so it takes something pretty special to impress us.
But, last week, we were lucky enough to be invited to the opening of the new Nightcap at Esplanade Hotel. We were given a walkthrough of the rooms and, honestly? We were very blown away.
It was the level of detail that really stood out. Nightcap has clearly put a lot of thought into how these rooms have been designed and built, from the little touches to the overall feel. It’s clear they’ve gone the extra mile to create a space that’s comfortable, practical and genuinely enjoyable to stay in.
Check out a little sneak peak from the opening...
Why this pub stay surprised us
Nightcap Hotels is 100% Australian owned and operated, and the idea is simple. A pub stay should be a choice for quality and convenience, and a bloody good sleep shouldn't be a compromise. Here's what that looked like at Brighton:
- 26 modern rooms with private ensuites. Nothing feels squished or cheap, except the rates you pay.
- Premium King Coil beds. Comfort like you wouldn't believe.
- Quiet rooms. The really cool Espy pub is right next door, and you can't hear the fuss.
- The quietest fridge we've ever seen. It's a small thing until you're trying to sleep.
- Local art and a fresh, local touch in every room, with solid Wi-Fi too.
- Total convenience. Onsite dining is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You'd think we work for them by this review, but we don't. We just know a good accommodation provider when we see one, and Nightcap, you've done a bloody good job.
The location is the cherry on top
The hotel sits directly on the Esplanade at Brighton Beach, so you can head out and explore on foot:
- Browse the boutique shops on Jetty Road, which has a relaxed beachy charm.
- Stroll down the iconic Brighton Jetty for incredible sunsets.
- Join the Coast Park Trail, which runs right by the hotel.
Beyond Brighton, you're about 10 minutes from Glenelg and 25 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. McLaren Vale wine country is under 30 minutes away. It also works as a convenient stopover near Adelaide Airport, whether you want a peaceful community vibe or an active coastal getaway.

It sits at the corner of Albert Place and the Esplanade, with views of Granite Island, Warland Reserve and Encounter Bay. The rooms have king-size beds and modern ensuites, and the bar and restaurant serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. It's a classic pub stay with the Nightcap polish, right by the water.
